The apparatus consists of an arch (1) which fits over the animal's back, gripping its flanks, with a pair of flat parallel plates (4) at the top to provide lengthwise stability. A supporting arm (2) connected to the top of the arch has a hook (3) on its free end for a semen holder, attached by a supple tube to a vaginal probe.
