The apparatus consists of a saddle (12) fitted to the sow's back, a sachet (20) containing the semen, and a support (14) that holds the sachet vertical during the insemination operation. The apparatus is additionally equipped with a roller clamp (30) which applies a constant and adjustable pressure to the sachet to expel the semen from it during the contractions of the animal's uterus. The rollers (31, 32) have supple surfaces and their effort is adjusted by weights.
