The electric motor regulation is carried out by a loop having a gain less than one. This is based on an operating parameter of the motor having a periodic characteristic representative of a percentage of the nominal speed of rotation of the electric motor. The method for regulating an electric motor is carried out by a loop having a gain less than one. This is based on the difference between a reference value of an operating parameter of the motor and the measured value of the same operating parameter of the motor. The difference is taken into account only if it is greater than a predetermined threshold, when the measured value of the parameter is greater than the reference value of the parameter. The gain may specifically be equal to 0.25, and the predetermined threshold equal to 2% of the signal. The reference signal is a pulsed voltage having a periodic characteristic representative of a percentage of the nominal speed of rotation of the electric motor.
