Method for data transmission has the following steps: transmission (E350) of a header (H) containing information (RAWSIZE) relating to the amount of useful information to be transmitted using a first data transfer protocol; receipt (E360) of a transmission command for transmission of the useful information using a second data transfer protocol (ALF) adapted to indicate the position of useful data within a memory that is directly accessible by a processing application. The invention also relates to a corresponding device, computer system, digital photocopier, data support for a program for implementation of the method and the method itself.
