Use of a plant extracts rich in procyanidolic polymers, having a degree of polymerization of at least 10, in compositions to inhibit alpha-amylases, especially intestinal alpha-amylases. An Independent claim is also included for dietetic compositions containing at least 10 weight.% plant extracts rich in procyanidolic polymers.
