The process involves (1) formulation where additive(s) (a) are incorporated into glue(s) (c) to obtain a new formulation (c+a); (2) conditioning and storage; (3) initiation of the new formulation to make a joint on the substrate(s); (4) joint service during which the joint behaves the same as a reference joint, and (5) separation on command by supplying the specific energy. The glues, adhesives and other adherent products (c) of the assembly are physically or chemically initiated. During the conditioning and storage stage, the standard storage conditions are not modified in the absence of the precise supply of energy. The additive does not modify the initiation. The reference joint is made using the glue (c) with no additives (a). The specific energy required does not modify the general properties of the glue in the reference joint on the same substrate. Conditioning and storage can be left out. The first three stages can be adapted using different formulations which are stored separately, and applied to obtain a homogenous or heterogeneous joint, for example when the rupture zone is to be defined in advance. Alternatively, the additives can be applied directly to the joint. The adhesive rupture allows further use of the substrates, without leaving any residues. The energy supplied is thermal or electromagnetic and does not modify the general properties or cause separation of glue in a reference joint.
