Moulding procedure uses air pressure and suction inside mould to create terra cotta shapes for decoration

The procedure uses a mould (1) with a perforated base (2) and a rigid counter-form (3) that is also perforated, covered with a layer (4) of the material to be moulded, e.g. clay, which is in turn covered by a sheet of sealing plastic (5). The assembly is fixed inside a depression chamber (6) connected to a vacuum tube (7) which, assisted by pressure exerted from above, contributes to the moulding/shaping of the material.
