Cooling air (14) for the engine of an agricultural vehicle is normally drawn through a filter (9) and radiator (6) by a main fan (12) which is directly driven mechanically (11,13) by the engine. When debris blocks the filter an electromagnetic clutch releases the main fan and a secondary electrically operated fan (8) sends a reverse air flow through the filter for a short time thus clearing the debris before resuming normal operation.
