METHOD FOR MANAGING REORGANIZATIONS IN A SET OF DATABASES IN A COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEM

The method for managing "off-line" reorganizations in a set of indexed databases, particularly tablespace type, of an information computer system comprises the following operations: (10) - Continuous maintenance of a list PRIOREORG objects to reorganize by decreasing priority; (20) - Execution of the IDPOR identification process of the next object to be reorganized POR in the absence of a reset event and consisting of the following steps: (21) - Establishment of a quick PRR reorganization schedule at the end of using PR = OREORG and residual operational time TRR and a selection list SELECT of OR objects: (22) - Establishment of a rearrangement reorganization with LIFO storage of objects extracted from the SELECT list; (23) - Identification of the available RTR processing region for rearranging the POR object; (24) - POR enrolled in the schedule of the identified region; (30) - Launch POR reorganization upon release of the RTR region in the absence of any RAZ event; and re-execution of the IDPOR process.
