The method involves charging cells simultaneously in a row and a capacitor with a resulting charge that is a function of the difference between a reference and image currents, respectively corresponding to conversion of reference and image voltages. The capacitor charge for the cell column is measured. An Independent claim is also included for a device of reading cells of an array of photosensitive cells arranged in lines and columns.
