An electronic control circuit of a motor vehicle starter switch, comprises a management unit (26) having: - first means for detecting the open or closed state of the power contact (20), - and second means to adjust the power supply to the coil (18) during the start-up cycle when the power contact (20) is still open after a predetermined time relative to the start of the start-up order. To automatically eliminate any insulation fault due to frost or an insulating particle in the contact zone during the start-up process, and to adapt the energy supplied to the contactor, the second means are arranged to automatically trigger a series of pulses delivered to the device during a time interval coil (18), so as to reiterate the activation of the contactor (16) as long as the start order is maintained, and to modify the supply intensity of the coil (18) during said interval, or when the operator repeats the start request in the event that the movable contact (20) is not closed.
