Ring Bus Structure For System On Chip Integrated Circuits

A bus structure for an integrated circuit designed to accommodate the types of operation used in telecommunications systems and to reduce the required bus frequency for a given system whilst also reducing power and processing power. The bus comprises a plurality of interface modules which are connected in series to form the bus structure, where each module is operable to transfer data to at least one adjacent module in the series, and including an interface unit for connection with a host peripheral, and a storage element for storing data.
