PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the collection and extraction of the chlorinated organic compound included in the atmospheric air. PSOLUTION: The collecting device 1 for the chlorinated organic compound is equipped with a case 2 having a series of vent paths composed of suction openings 6 and vent pipes 9 for making atmosphere pass and first filters 4 and second filters 5 laminated within the vent paths. The first filters 4 are composed of, for example, quartz fiber filter paper and the second filters 5 are composed of air permeable moldings including at least partly silanized inorganic fiber groups. The collecting device 1 can suck the atmospheric air from the first filter 4 side when the pressure on the second filter 5 side of the vent paths is reduced. The sucked atmospheric air passes the first filters and the second filters 5 in this order. At this time, the soot and dust stuck with the chlorinated organic compound are caught by the first filters 4 and the chlorinated organic compound in a gaseous state is adsorbed and caught by the second filters.
