PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chirped diffraction grating suppressing a fluctuation in characteristics caused by an anomaly, and to provide a small type demultiplexer using this diffraction grating.;SOLUTION: An optical signal which is wavelength-multiplexed and transmitted through an optical fiber 10 is separated and condensed by a chirped diffraction grating optics 14, and is detected by a photo-detector array 24 via a light-receiving waveguide array 26. An anomaly is suppressed by dividing the chirped diffraction grating 14 according to regions to reduce a blaze angle of a region where the anomaly occurs, and thus the small type and low loss demultiplexer can be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
