PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection efficiency and to obtain high time resolution.;SOLUTION: An inputted analog detection signal is set to a digital detection signal S_t made of pulses with specific width through a comparator. A coded time-series signal, where a coded time-series signal made of a group of ONs/OFFs is outputted in synchronization with block signals, comprises a mode signal S_m1 and a complementary mode signal S_m2 obtained by inverting the mode signal S_m1. In each coded time-series signal, the arrangement patterns of ONs/OFFs differ mutually, and each composes orthogonal modulation patterns. A digital detection signal S_t and the mode signals S_m1, S_m2 their AND logic is obtained. The number of Hs by the AND is counted by a counter. The counter outputs a coefficient value for each coded time-series signal. By inverting the count values, the detection time of the inputted analog detection signal is obtained with the block signal as a reference.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
