PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment of a mandrel for a hot rolled steel strip coiler having an improved heat crack resistance and seizure resistance.;SOLUTION: A hard facing layer is welded to the segment surface of the mandrel for hot rolled steel strip coiler constituting by using a hard facing material consisting, by mass %, 0.05 to 0.12% C, 0.2 to 0.8 Si, 0.5 to 1.5% Mn, 1.0 to 5.0 Cr, 0.1 to 2.0% Mo, further containing one or more kinds among 0.5 to 3.0% Ni, 0.1 to 1.0% V, 0.5 to 3.0% Co, and 0.1 to 1.0% W, and consisting of the balance Fe and inevitable impurities. The seizure of different material powders to the steel strip is suppressed and the degradation in the yield by discarding is prevented by improving the heat crack resistance and seizure resistance of the segment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
