PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion-exchanger which separates a lipoprotein (LDL) and a modified lipoprotein in a short time with high accuracy by using high-velocity liquid chromatography, and to provide a method for separating LDL and the like. PSOLUTION: The ion-exchanger is obtained by that, the surfaces of porous organic polymer particles (A) are hydrophilization-treated, forming the surface-hydrophilized porous organic polymer particles (D), and ion exchange groups are subsequently introduced thereto, providing the ion-exchanger. The hydrophilization treatment is carried out by that, the porous organic polymer particles (A) are addition-reacted with a compound (B) having a cyclic ether group and/or hydrophilic group, and a polymerizable double bond, being copolymerized with a polymerizable vinyl monomer (C) having a cyclic ether group and/or hydrophilic group, subsequently, and the ion-exchanger for lipoprotein separation is specified as follows: the ion-exchange capacity is ≤0.15 milliequivalents per 1g of the dried ion-exchanger; the introduced amount of the compound (B) is 0.1-45 wt.% of the amount of the particles (A); and the copolymerized amount of the compound (C) is 5-60 wt.% of the amount of the addition product of the particles (A) and the compound (B).
