PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colloid containing a protective agent and having adequate adsorptivity regardless of a type of a carrier.;SOLUTION: A mono-component system or multicomponent system metal colloid comprises nanoparticles comprising one or more metal species, and one or more protective agents for protecting the nanoparticles. The protective agent is made of a low molecular weight material which has one or more electrostatic groups and a molecular weight of 30 to 5,000.
