PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new AOX gene derived from Dead Horse of a new heat-generating plant, and useful for the development of low temperature-evading crop, the addition of a function for suppressing biological oxidation stress, the increase of respiration of environmental clean-up microorganisms, etc.;SOLUTION: The heat generation-related gene product Hm-pre-AOX derived from the Dead Horse has a specific amino acid sequence. The Dead Horse gene Hm-aox encodes the gene product Hm-pre-AOX. The signal peptide Hm-mit-1 transferable into a mitochondria, being a part the Hm-pre-AOX and having another specific amino acid sequence, and a gene encoding the signal peptide Hm-mit-1 and derived from the Dead Horse are also provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
