PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device which accurately measures a diffusion coefficient in conductive melt. PSOLUTION: Two conductive solid materials X and Y having composition constituents different from each other are held in a joined form so as to set the axial directions of the solid materials X and Y nearly parallel with a gravity direction in a vessel 1. Then, the solid materials X and Y are heated and melted with static magnetic field B applied in a direction nearly orthogonal to the gravity direction to form two conductive melts X' and Y' having composition constituents different from each other.
