SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BLOCKING COPYRIGHT PIRACY OF SOFTWARE IN VOLUME LICENSE KEY ENVIRONMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unique volume license key (VLK) to a volume license owner.;SOLUTION: A VLK and a file with a signature are provided to the volume license owner along with software having received the issue of the license. A license file is a slightly large file, and stored in, for instance, an installation server or the like. The license file is read after login, data are authenticated, and the system is activated. When the license data cannot be authenticated, the system perfectly functions in a renewal period, and is operated in a function-lowering mode until the authentication is successfully executed. When the system is cut off, it functions only by a feature in cutting it off until joining in the network again. For complete offline installation, the license file is generated by the owner of the volume license by using a dedicated VLK or the like allocated by a software vendor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
