PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method, in which a variety of display media and font characteristics suitable for readable parameters are automatically determined for any language. PSOLUTION: A system, a method and a computer-readable medium determine a suitable line-height automatically, in matching with a variety of display media and a variety of readable parameters of arbitrary languages. The object is a method of determining the line-height of a text string, and a step of determining the value to indicate the number of clusters per one em of the text string and a step to carry out scaling of a default line-height by the exponential function. In another embodiment, the object is a data structure constituted to hold a plurality of elements, to define the font characteristics and a computer system provided with a module combined with the data structure. This module adjusts the line-height automatically, when reference conditions change by using font characteristics and by applying the exponential function to the average width of the cluster having the font characteristics.
