PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antitumor agent given by using a composite Chinese herbal medicine scarcely having side effects. PSOLUTION: The antitumor agent is obtained by deacetylating various kinds of mushrooms, including ganoderma and agaricus, as raw materials, deoxygenating the deacetylated materials to form calcium -glucan, making the calcium -glucan easily soluble, mixing the Chinese herbal medicine, including ganoderma spawn, therewith, and further adding notoginseng radix, glycyrrhizin, tannic acid, monordicae fructus juice, saponin, or the like, thereto. A tungstate salt or a molybdate salt having bacteriostatic and fungistatic effects on bacteria, fungi, and viruses, or Adenophora pereskiaefolia is further added to the agent. Thus, the agent is effective for treating maxillary/submaxillary cancer, laryngeal cancer, lingual cancer, and uterine cancer which are conventionally not treated by single administration of the ganoderma or the agaricus, and has an immediate effect, when the Adenophora pereskiaefolia is together used.
