PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biogas utilization appliance for effectively utilizing organic wastes and reducing the power cost, and a power cost reducing method. PSOLUTION: A biogas utilization appliance 1 having a methane fermentation tank 2 to generate biogas by fermenting organic wastes to obtain methane and a power generator 5 to generate the power by using biogas generated in this methane fermentation tank 2 comprises a gas holder 3 to store biogas generated in the methane fermentation tank 2 and a control means to perform the control that the biogas generated in the methane fermentation tank 2 when the biogas oriented power generation is stopped, and the biogas in the gas holder 3 is fed to the power generator 5. The capacity of the gas holder 3 is set so that the total volume of the biogas generated in the methane fermentation tank 2 when the power generation using the biogas is stopped can be stored, and the capacity of the power generator 5 is set so that the biogas stored in the gas holder 3 is treated in a preset power generation time zone.
