PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for producing a rice ball having gaps among mutual rice grains designed to readily produce the rice ball in which each of rice grains of the rice ball retains the original shape without collapsing the rice grains of the rice ball and the rice grains are arranged in various directions to make small gaps among the mutual rice grains thereby without losing the softness and flavor of the rice ball itself at all.;SOLUTION: The tool for producing the rice ball having the gaps among the mutual rice grains is characterized as follows. A first forming part and a second forming part having a planar part and a hollow part of the rice ball shape in the central part of the planar part are connected through a connecting part freely turnably and openably and closably in the final short side of the peripheral edge part in the longitudinal direction. Ridge parts and valley parts are formed in the inner surface of the peripheral surface part of the hollow part. A plurality of recessed parts arranged in the lattice form are formed in the base of the hollow part. The hollow part can be deflected and deformed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
