METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC WATERING AND AUTOMATIC WATERING DEVICE FOR POTTED PLANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatic watering and an automatic watering device for potted plants largely solving problems of economical inefficiency and unavailability left in a conventional method where non-woven fabric pieces used for automatic watering are mounted together with culture soil, and taking measures against transpiration of makeup water.;SOLUTION: The method for automatically watering potted plants comprises the following process: laying a water-retainable mat composed of non-woven fabric, sponge, raised fabric or the like on a pot placing part to put a flowerpot; supplying reserved water in a water reserving part provided below the pot placing part to the water-retainable mat via a water absorbing material having capillary function; bringing the upper surface of the water-retainable into contact with culture soil in the pot through the bottom holes of the pot; and supplying absorbed water to the culture soil. In this method, a transpiration-preventive sheet obtained by making a lot of pinholes on an impermeable sheet is laid over the upper surface of the water-retainable mat.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
