WATER GLASS FOR WATER GLASS-SLAG CONCRETE, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND WATER GLASS-SLAG CONCRETE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture water glass-slag concrete which is excellent in acid resistance and gives water glass concrete which is equivalent to concrete in workability and in performances such as the hardening adjustment, strength development, drying shrinkage, and freeze and thaw of a hardened body, by using an inexpensive granulated blast furnace slag discharged in a large amount and modified, improved industrial water glass. PSOLUTION: The water glass-slag concrete contains water glass, blast furnace slag, a siliceous powder, fine aggregate, and coarse aggregate. The water glass has such characteristics that when its SiOSB2/SB/NaSB2/SBO mole ratio (S/N) is 2.1 and 2.3 and water of 65 pts.wt. is addd to the water glass of 140 pts.wt., its pH satisfies the equation: pH=-2.20(S/N)+17.170.10; and when its molar ratio (S/N) is 2.3 and 2.5 and water of 65 pts.wt. is added to the water glass of 140 pts.wt., its pH satisfies the equation: pH=-0.911(S/N)+14.210.10.
