PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a matrix at a high speed by an SMP node distributed memory type parallel computer.;SOLUTION: In an LU decomposition method for a blocked matrix, for respective SMP nodes connected by a network, a block to be updated in the matrix is divided vertically into for several nodes, and respective divided parts are arranged in each node. Such arrangement is continuously performed about blocks to be updated, and a divided part of the divided block is cyclically allocated to each node. Each node allocated with the divided part updates the divided block in order of the original block. By sequentially updating the original block, the amount of processed blocks of each node is increased by the same amount at a time to distribute load.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
