PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new nucleic acid and to provide a method for identifying or detecting a microorganism having the same nucleic acid and a method for purifying or monitoring soil contaminated with coal oil, petroleum oil or mineral oil, etc., by the same microorganism.;SOLUTION: The nucleic acid has (a) specific base sequence derived from a bacterium of the genus Burkhorderia or (b) base sequence hybridizing with all or a part of (a) the base sequence under stringent conditions and is included in a 16S ribosome RNA gene sequence of the bacterium of the genus Burkhorderia or a related bacterium of the genus Burkhorderia suitable for removing the oil.
