PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive machine for automatically peeling coat of an onion, having a simple structure.;SOLUTION: A conveyor (15) is arranged on a frame (11), and two or more onion-holding means (17) are fixed to the conveyor. A pair of notch-forming means (19) for forming notches in the onion (1) is arranged at the side of the conveyor, and each of the notch-forming means has one terminal of a turning arm (21) attached so as to be freely turnable. A notching blade (23) is protruded from the vicinity of the other terminal of the turning arm, and a return spring (25) is arranged between the turning arm and the frame. A pair of rotary rollers (37) rotating in the same direction is arranged at the lower part of the end part of the conveyor so as not to be advanced and retreated, and a compressed air-blowing means (38) for blowing the compressed air to the onion on the rotary roller is arranged. A rotary lever (39) is arranged at the upper part of the rotary roller so that the onion on the rotary roller may be dropped from the rotary roller by the rotary lever.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
