PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection joint for uniformly pressure-fitting the whole periphery of a water sealing rubber ring to a fitted surface in connecting a rectangular main pipe, branch pipe, support pipe or the like to a side face hole of a new rectangular manhole or the like.;SOLUTION: This connection joint has a metal joint comprising a rectangular cylinder and a mounting plate fittable in an inclined manner to a square side face hole of the rectangular manhole such as a box culvert and a square side face hole of the rectangular main pipe or the like, and a rubber ring fitted straddling the rectangular cylinder of the metal joint and a connecting pipe such as the main pipe, support pipe or branch pipe of a rectangular cylinder shape fitted into the rectangular cylinder. The rubber ring is formed in a rectangular shape by molding, and the whole periphery of the rubber ring is clamped and pressure-fitted to the fitted surface by the covering contact of strip fitting plates divided in several parts having corner angle bent parts at the whole peripheries of both stradde-fitting ends of the rubber ring, and bolt-fastening the strip fitting plates outside the rubber ring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
