PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture medium for culturing streptomyces improving antibiotics producing potential of the streptomyces, a method for effectively producing antibiotics with high activity using the same by the streptomyces, a method for improving antibiotics producing potential of the streptomyces, and provide an effective method for screening the antibiotics producing bacteria.;SOLUTION: The invention relates to the culture medium for culturing streptomyces contains spall of grains, wherein the spall of grains are unused parts of grains, the unused parts of grains are husks of grains, or the unused parts of grains are wheat bran or the like. The method for producing antibiotics by culture of the streptomyces which uses the culture medium for streptomyces. The method for improving antibiotics producing potential of the streptomyces cultures the streptomyces cultured at least either one of a plate culture or liquid culture in the prescribed culture medium.
