PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for retrieving documents, which can manage a plurality of document data by a single system.;SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a registration processing means 3, which selects a text dividing means 6 in response to language information for the document data input from an input means 1, and divides the document data into a token using the text dividing means 6. Further, the registration processing means 3 stores the document data in a document data storage 7 with a document identifying information for indicating the document data, and it also stores the information of occurrence locations for the tokens in the document data, which are divided by the text dividing means 6, and the document identifying information for the document data into a memory storage 8 for retrieved documents as retrieved information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
