PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy diagnosis of placement status of a positioning system in order to position accurately an object while moving.;SOLUTION: The positioning system is equipped with a sensor block 120 for detecting whirling angular speed, rate of travel, acceleration, azimuth, slope angle, etc. of the object while moving, a diagnostic request input part 107 for a user to publish diagnostic request command, an output instrumentation part 108 for measuring variation or the maximum output of sensor output, a mounting state judging part 109 for judging placement status of the positioning system 100, and a display part 111 for announcing the mounting state judging result to the user. When a value which the output instrumentation part 108 measured exceeds a prescribed threshold value, the placement status of the positioning system 100 is judged to be abnormal, and determination result is indicated on a display part 111.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
