PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the parallel operations of a plurality of input/output processing to the same logical volume of an external storage device.;SOLUTION: In a frame used by the serial channel interface of an input/output channel part(CH) and a disk controller(DKC), the CH assigns an OX-ID510 to a frame header 502 of the frame based on unique parallel access identification information for managing the parallel operations of a plurality of I/O to the VOL of the same VOL address, and transmits it to the DKC. In the DKC which has received the frame, a management information area is assigned for each I/O processing from the VOL address and the parallel access identification information based on the OX-ID510 so that the parallel access identification information can be recorded, and the CH is informed of the end by using the OX-ID510 assigned based on the parallel access identification information so that the parallel processing of the plurality of I/O to the same VOL can be realized. Thus, the parallel operations of the plurality of I/O to the same logical volume or logical peripheral equipment or the like is realized between a central processing unit and peripheral equipment such as an external storage device without being constrained by a physical storage device configuring the peripheral equipment such as the external storage device, the number of the peripheral equipment, or any available address or the like.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
