PURPOSE: To obtain a sticker piece by forming a decorated stitch of a desired motif on sticker cloth and cutting the sticker cloth, to reduce labor and to automatically make the outer peripheral outline of the decorated stitch and that of the sticker piece mutually oppose in a desired interval. ;CONSTITUTION: A decorated stitch 36 of a desired motif is formed on sticker cloth 35 and the sticker cloth 35 is set on a plate face 6 of a cutting machine 2. The sticker cloth 35 is picked up, the image of the picked up sticker cloth 35 is subjected to image processing to detect the outer peripheral outline of the decorated stitch 36. Cutting data for cutting the sticker cloth 35 are automatically prepared based on the detected outer peripheral outline of the decorated stitch 36. A cutting blade 7 of the cutting machine 2 is operated based on the cutting data and the sticker cloth 35 is cut at the outside of the outer peripheral outline of the decorated stitch 36 to give the objective sticker piece 37.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
