PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a halogen-modified polymer compound, by which an extremely high-purity halogen-modified polymer compound having no impurities such as a catalyst, etc., is obtained by an exceedingly simple method and to obtain the halogen-modified polymer compound produced by the method for producing the halogen-modified polymer compound. PSOLUTION: The method for producing the halogen-modified polymer compound comprises chemically modifying a polymer compound by reacting the polymer compound with a halogen compound in a supercritical fluid or a subcritical fluid. In the obtained halogen-modified polymer compound, a halogen is introduced into a part or the whole of a monomer unit constituting the polymer compound before the modification reaction.
