PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent degradation of a catalyst liable to occur in stop of an engine (particularly, at a transition point from an operation period to a pause period in intermittent operation of the engine). PSOLUTION: In this hybrid type power output device including the engine and a motor generator device, as a control for preventing the degradation of the catalyst, fuel supply stop treatment is performed to stop the supply of fuel (refer to points FS in the Figs. 7a and 7b) after performing fuel amount increase treatment for increasing a fuel amount in a combustion chamber compared with a prior state in the stop of the engine (refer to point FR in Fig. b).
