NEW CRYSTAL OF 5-(1Z,2E)-2-METHYL-3-PHENYL-2-PROPENYLIDENE-4-OXO-2-THIOXO-3-THIAZOLIDINEACETIC ACID, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND PHARMACEUTICAL WITH THE SAME AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform new crystal of 5-[(1Z,2E)-2-methyl-3-phenyl-2-propenylidene]-4-oxo-2-thioxo-3-thiazolidineacetic acid having high stability to light, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a pharmaceutical with the same as the active ingredient.;SOLUTION: The new A-type crystal of 5-[(1Z,2E)-2-methyl-3-phenyl-2-propenylidene]-4-oxo-2-thioxo-3-thiazolidineacetic acid has either one of the following physicochemical data shown in A, B and C below: (A) having a powder X-ray diffraction spectrum shown in Fig. 1, (B) the infrared absorption spectrum(IR) measured using reflection method is shown in Fig. 2, and (C) the result of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) is shown in Fig. 3.
