PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method or the like for an inking amount and a base color removal amount used for color conversion processing by a printer capable of efficiently designing the inking amount and the base color removal amount for obtaining an optimum image quality. PSOLUTION: Image data expressed with each density of RGB is used for converting the color image to the image data expressed with each density of CMYK, The inking amount B1 representing the density of K and the under color removal amount U1 denoting the removal amount of the density of CMY used for color conversion for converting image data represented by each density of RGB into image data represented by each density of CMYK are designed such that a graph of a gray axis toner amount G1 using a complementary color minimum value k for a variable is monotonously increased wherein the value k is a minimum value of three density values obtained by converting the density value of the RGB into density values of three colors in a complementary color relation to the RGB and graphs of a gay axis toner amount G1, a primary color axis toner amount O1, an a secondary color axis toner mount T1 with respect to a variable of the complementary color minimum value k have no discontinuous point in the gradient.
