PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information communication unit for a PLC which does not affect the reliability of restored data even when any communication abnormality is caused at the time of restoring data in a PLC unit in a network communication mode.;SOLUTION: This information communication unit 5 for the PLC mounted on a bus 8 for transmitting/receiving data between an FA apparatus 3 in which a PLC unit 4 having a ROM 43 storing OS data is mounted on a bus 8 and a network apparatus 1 for managing the FA apparatus 3 through a network 2 is provided with: a data storage part 53 for storing data to be written in the ROM 43 of the PLC unit 4 from the network apparatus 1; a backup/restore function 522 for storing the data from the network equipment 1 in the data storing part 53 and restoring the data in the ROM 43 of the PLC unit 4 when the data are normal; and a data diagnosing function 523 for diagnosing the reliability of the backed-up data.
