PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll having excellent adhesion, wear resistance, and lubrication property for use in cold-rolling, conveying, and cooling a steel sheet, its manufacturing method, and a cold-rolling method, a conveying method, and a cooling method of the steel sheet using the roll.;SOLUTION: The chromium-plated roll on the surface of which the layer of a chromium plate having semispherical projecting shapes of 1-12 μm in diameter and the manufacturing method of the chromium-plated roll by applying chromium-plating after performing blast-processing on the surface of the roll are provided. It is preferable to have a plurality of recessed parts having an opening of 1-300 μm in diameter, ≤50 μm in depth or height, and 2-600 μm in pitch, molten marks, the projecting parts, or the recessed parts so as to be independently of or overlapped to each other on the surface of the roll. An NiW-plated layer having the semispherical projecting shape of 1-120 μm in diameter can be provided between the chromium-plated layer and the surface of the roll.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
