PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the device and the apparatus and reduce the cost by decreasing the numbers of components.;SOLUTION: The device comprising a tuning fork 4 having a driving piezoelectric element 4a fixed to one arm of the tuning fork 4 for generating mechanical vibration according to an electric signal and also having a detecting piezoelectric element 4b fixed to the other arm of the tuning fork 4 for detecting the vibration, a driving signal generating section 11 for providing the driving piezoelectric element 4a with a driving signal, a voltage detecting section 12 for detecting an electric signal generated by the detecting piezoelectric element 4b according to the mechanical vibration of the tuning fork 4, the mechanical vibration being generated by providing the driving piezoelectric element 4a with a driving signal of a prescribed frequency from the driving signal generating section 11, and control means 20 for determining the driving signal frequency based on the data detected by the voltage detecting section 12, is characterized in that, when the control means 20 determines the driving signal frequency, the control means 20 shifts the driving signal frequency step by step from the predetermined frequency by the predetermined amount of frequency.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
