PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a high-definition primary color image, where blur and false color are reduced from the image photographed by a single CCD imaging device using a complementary color filter.;SOLUTION: In an interpolation unit 10 of photographed images in a complementary color digital camera in which the complementary color filter 14 is disposed for the imaging device 16 where light receiving elements are arranged two dimensionally, the unit comprises an operation memory 22 that stores color separation mosaic images of each color, which has a constitution that pixels whose brightness values are fixed, which are generated corresponding to the arrangement of each color of the complementary color filter based on an imaging signal of the digital camera, and missing pixels whose brightness values are omitted are arranged, and a signal processor 24 that generates a full-color image in the primary colors by repeating interpolation processing that interpolates the brightness values to the missing pixels based on the color separation mosaic images and color conversion processing that converts the complementary color into the primary color by a back-projection method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
