PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fee accepting technique which allows smooth fee acceptance, makes illegal riddance from paying difficult and is suitable for accepting a fee for two-wheeled vehicles.;SOLUTION: The toll road fee accepting method according to the present invention comprises the step of determining a vehicle type of a vehicle (2) entering into an entrance tollgate (3) for a toll road (5); the step of writing vehicle type information indicating the vehicle type of the vehicle (2) and an entrance identifier (entrance ID) for identifying the entrance tollgate (3) into a non-contact IC card (1) into which the remaining amount of money is written at the entrance tollgate (3); the step of reading the vehicle type information and the entrance identifier from the non-contact IC card (1) at an exit tollgate (4) for the toll road (5); the step of calculating the fee to be charged to the vehicle (2) based on the read vehicle type information and entrance identifier; and the step of performing the charge processing to a person who must pay the fee.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
