ATTRACTANT AND ATTRACTANT/INSECTICIDE FOR GASTROPODS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an attractant having higher attractive force for gastropods and an attractant/insecticide for the gastropods comprising an insecticidal ingredient effective against the gastropods mixed in the attracting substance, especially the attractant/insecticide for the aquatic gastropods considered to be difficult in the development, and to reduce both the amount of the attractant/insecticide used and the insecticidal ingredient released into the environment by enhancing the attractive force.;SOLUTION: The attractant for the gastropods comprises one or more kinds of compounds selected from an aliphatic aldehyde having total 5-12 carbon atoms, a fatty acid having total 5-12 carbon atoms, a fatty acid ester having total 6-11 carbon atoms, an aliphatic alcohol having total 6-11 carbon atoms and phenylacetic acid and paraldehyde. Furthermore, the attractant/insecticide for the gastropods comprises the ingredients and the insecticidal ingredient. Excellent attracting effects as compared with those of the conventional attractant/insecticide, metaldehyde, are provided by using the attractant/insecticide. Thereby, more efficient control can be performed. Since the attracting ingredient sustains within a wide range over a long period, the amount of the attracting ingredient released into the environment can be reduced.
