The present invention is an apparatus for capturing the feedback equalizer ATSC system vestigial side band (VSB) receiver, to reduce errors by utilizing a trellis decoder as the determination unit. Feedback symbol of decision feedback equalizer, is reproduced from the traceback path memory of the coder in the trellis using logic circuit (1310, 1320, 1330) with respect to (S0-S3) each bit. In addition, synchronization symbol is inserted into the feedback symbol stream.
