PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition capable of being properly held by the hair when coated on the hair, having an extremely improved curly hair-straightening effect and persistence thereof, reducing entanglement and hooking feeling of the hair when coating the composition, and hardly providing troubles such as shrinkage of the hair.;SOLUTION: This intermediate treating agent composition used after a reduction step and before an oxidation step in curly hair straightening contains (A) 1-25wt.% pH buffer comprising an organic acid or inorganic acid having pKa ≤5, or a salt thereof as an acid, (B) 0.1-40wt.% hydrophobic sulfonic acid or a salt thereof, having a 6-18C aromatic hydrophobic group or a 6-11C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, (C) 0.1-20wt.% aromatic alcohol, and at least one of (D) 0.1-20wt.% higher alcohol or higher fatty acid and (E) 0.1-20wt.% water-soluble polymer, and has pH 1-5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
