METHOD FOR CUTTING-OFF SLEEVE OF TRANSMISSION BELT AND ITS CUTTING OFF APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting-off technique when a sleeve of a transmission belt is cut off in round slices in order to narrow its width, which technique is much more simple, low-priced, and does not need a very often maintenance, based on the result of the restudy of generally employed conventional method and configuration in which the belt sleeve tensed between two shafts is driven.;SOLUTION: In the method for cutting-off the transmission belt and its apparatus 1, the belt sleeve BS having a plurality of grooves in the lateral direction, which are formed over the whole periphery of the belt sleeve BS, is cut off in round slices in the lateral direction by driving the belt sleeve BS while suppressing the meandering of the belt sleeve BS. In this method, the belt sleeve BS is hung on a spindle 3 with its groove face facing outward, and is guided by means of at least two gripping roller parts 5, which are arranged so as to proceed to and recede from the periphery of the main spindle, and which have a plurality of grooves, and any one of which drives the belt sleeve BS.
