PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curved surface display device capable of displaying a new curved surface at a speed as fixed and high as possible even in the case of displaying the dynamic shape change of the curved surface.;SOLUTION: A curved surface model generation part 10 expresses the curved surface as the assembly of rectangular patches constituted of four nodes and six strings on a data space and generates the model data of the curved surface by the positional information and state variables of the nodes, strings and patches. A curved surface dividing / erasing processing part 20 generates the model data of the new curved surface after a dividing / erasing processing by changing the state variables of the nodes, strings and patches constituting the curved surface model data according to the curved surface dividing / erasing processing performed to the curved surface model data. A curved surface model display part 30 decides the plotting patterns of the respective patches according to the state variable of the patches included in the curved surface model data after the dividing / erasing processing, subdivides them by polygons for display according to the plotting patterns and displays the curved surfaces.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
